What fish would'nt be adviseable for a Clam tank? I have 1 Coral Beauty,1 Damsel,1 Maroon Clown at the moment. Would like to add a Purple & Yellow Tang.

Coral beautys and clams are not usually good together. Most often the CB will pick on the clam and stress him to death.

I hope you have a large tank at least 120 or 150 gallons if you want two tangs! :)

Tangs are tricky. I had a yellow tang which the literature said would be clam safe, but he loved eating T. maxima mantles. I now have a saifin tang who is much calmer and leaves all my clams alone.

Please don't laugh at me! If you wan't something interesting try a sargassum, bluejaw or crosshatch trigger. I have had a sargassum for 6 months and a bluejaw for almost two years with clams, SPS corals, snails, cleaner shrimp, etc.

They have been 10 times better than any tang, clown fish, dwarf angel, etc that I have had. They don't pick on the shells(like my chevron) kick up sand (like everybodys maroon clowns). Nigers and Pinktails are too big of a risk. IMO these are the only 3 triggers that are safe in a reef with clams.

I know some others that have kept bluejaws in a reef and have never heard negative stories unlike the Nigers...

i have a purple and small sailfin tang that don't bug my clams beyond the occasional nip at algae on the shells. the Coral Beauty is iffy.
great shot of a very cool fish Donovan-

Thanks Greg - I went to your website - incredible photos you have there. Here is my other trigger in my reef tank...
