I do, partly because I have no chiller so my tank will run warmer whether I like it or not.
Often in the winter [with night-time thermostat setback to 62] my tank runs in the 77-78 range. Recently I've brought it up to 79, likely to run 80-81 until it gets hot, when I'll drop it back to 79 [or try to].
Two summers ago, my tank hit 86 once, and 84 once - when running in the 80-81 range. Didn't lose anything, feel remarkably lucky - but also feel that as the tank hit 82 on a hot day [every few weeks] ... that perhaps they were more accustomed to the heat and didn't stress so hard on those rare peaks.
[vs if they were used to 78 and never hit over 80 ...]
Or, I just got lucky - but I figure why fight the warm/cooling of the house - I just rename it seasonal-variation
