sump/fuge help

I'm planning a 29 gallon setup with a 20 long tank underneath for my sump/fuge. I have some designs for it, but does anyone have any ideas on how I can get the max amount of usage underneath. The only bad thing about the 20 long is that I need 14 inches of it for the skimmer. That leaves me 16 for the fuge, return and spacing for the baffles. How much space would I need for the return if I use a Eheim 1250 for the pump. I wanna try and get the most space I can for the fuge. Any ideas would be helpful. I have 30 in. of space under the stand I'm gonna build.

In the return section the challenge is not just fitting the pump but making enough room to handle evaporation. All of the evaporation in the system will show in the return section of the sump - so if you make it small it will run the risk of running dry fast if you don't have an auto top off system.

Any chance of fitting in a fuge outside of the stand?

If thats the case then my fuge area will be rather small, and I wanna try and get a fuge are as large as I can. Got any ideas for an area that is 30x16. I don't really wanna build my own, I'd rather put baffles in a glass tank.

You might run into a problem.I just kind of skimmed thru this so here is what I did in your problem(i think I had you problem).

Okay I have a 55g tank with a sump about 15 gallons with about 10g in it.After I put the skimmer, and return pump in I relized I had no room for a refugium:eek: .So this is what I did.

Since I new this guy at the lfs,i was telling him my problem and he sold me this 7-9g acrylic box for about $10.So I had the other side of my cabinet with nothing but electrical crap in it.I ended up making a stand for the new acrylic fuge drilling it and putting a bulkhead and hving a pump to pump water up there.Long story short I needed to tighten my bulkhead and replace the soaked powerstrips.

So after tightening them it still leaked.Found some reef safe epaoxy/super glue stuff.(well i think it was reef safe).Well I glued both sides to the acrylic:smokin: .lol.Well it didnt leak anymore.

Its running well, the only problem,I can barely get my hand in there:mad: .So thats a different problem. So I hope that you found what I did helpful to your situation.
