I just watched a clip on youtube and it was stated in the video that you should never run all of your water through the refugium. I was wondering if this is accurate as in my previous setup I ran all of the water into the first chamber where my skimmer was located then all the water ran through the bubble chambers to the fuge that had macro algae and then into the return chamber. I never had any issues with this that I was aware of. Any feedback would be awesome.

Many reefers, including myself, want to have a different flow rate for the skimmer section and the fuge section. My return pump is powerful and turns water over quickly however I like the fuge section to have a slower turnover. So using a "T" I can throttle down the water going into the fuge. Cheers.
