just picked me up a sun coral on mon did not open much till wed.

I feed it some wed and today about an hr before the MH went out it was part way open.

I mixed up some frozen cycopleeze and mysis and used a turkey baster to feed it. It ate it and came out a little more. Now that the MH went out it has really open up.

My ? is I want it to open during the day, if it opens up tomarrow with the MH on again do I feed it or wait a day is it a good sign it opens with the MH on?

I do not want to overfeed the tank it is just a 12 gal aqua pod.

With a small tank it might be better to feed it like this:

This way you won't get a lot of extra food in the tank. Use the turkey baster to stir the food up every few minutes. When its has eaten everything just put it back in the tank. Don't put the water in your tank since it will have a lot of shrimp juice in it.

The container feeding is a good idea. I once fed my sun corals, which are kept in a 10g nano, too much and the water turned really milky the next day. I did a water change and it cleared things up quickly.

I attached the end of a soda bottle to an 1.25" piece of tubing and made a little beer bong looking thing to feed them. I them shoot the food down the tube over the polyps. Keeps the fich from eating the food. The end of the soda bottle works like a dome.

I have a biocube 29 and I feed my sun coral in the tank. I know this puts a lot of nutrients into the water but I only feed every 3-4 days. It was a small frag with 4 heads when I bought it (month ago). I currently have about 10-15 smaller heads popping out of the sides of those heads. I just wish my dendro would do the same.
