I've had my sun coral for about 6 weeks now and its not opening at all. Any help! I've tried moving it in different areas, no response.

keep squirting smelly food on it. You could take it out and put it in a tupperware container with tank water in it and give it a food soup bath with the food for 10-20 minutes. They like cyclopeeze, Rods fish food, coral smoothie. Once in a while I have even stuck a smushed up silverside in the tupperware container with it just for the smell. They can be temperamental. Also look on it to see if there are any creatures on it that would be bugging it or if it is close to another coral.

Our sun corals get fed every other night. We feed them with a Julians Thing tool. We feed each polyp individually.

When they close, something is usually bothering them or they need to be coaxed out. They don't necessarily come out immediately in the soup bath either. Sometimes it will be later that night or the next day. They just need a good trigger with the food.

My sun polyps have gone three weeks closed before for no apparent reason only to open again with more polyps than before.

Either your water chemistry blows or your lights are drowning them in to much intensity. They look like they are turning white a little? Or maybe its the picture but that means ur bleaching them with to much light..

What are the sizes the Cyclopeeze, Rod's, and coral smoothie in reference to mysis?

I've got a small frag that isn't doing so great. It wasn't being fed in the store. It has a few spread out branches. Wasn't the healthiest looking sun coral, but I thought I would try bringing it around since it was only a $10 frag.

It took mysis on the first two days, but hasn't taken anything in a few days. The newer heads look like they are trying to take food, but the mysis is too big and they don't seem to be taking the ATM microplankton, at least not enough to be full and puffed out. They look like they might be starting to get pale.

How easy are those foods to deal with? I've got a pico tank and the only other things I have that will take something the size of mysis is a single mushroom and single headed acan. Frozen cubes are a pain to deal with.
