sun coral too much light??

I have a sun coral on the sand bed in my 56 colum tank, i rub a 250 watt MH the tank is 23 inches deep the MH is about 7 inchesoff the surface. Is this too much light for the sun coral should i move him to a lower lighted area in the tank ?? have had it for a month or so starting to look a little fragile my water parameters are good, and the water flow is good but not to strong, i dont think... THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE!!

The light shouldn't matter as long as algae isn't growing over the coral. If it is looking fragile, increase the frequency that you are feeding it. Also consider soaking the food in a vitamin supplement such as selcon.

there is a little bit of algae between the polyps how do i gewt rid of it??? just added tomini tang will he do it?? i have cyclopez i have been putting in every 3 days i will start to target feed at night i guess thank you

Mine does better if I put them under a ledge to block some of the light.

I have moved them around but they seem to be happier in the dimer light

If you have algae growing between the polyps,it may mean that the tissue is declining due to lack of food.I would definately start to actively target feed the polyps.HTH
