You can try a Scleronephthya type coral. Why do you want to go with a non-photosynthetic corals?

thanks for the advice. i am just starting to turn my 29g tank into a reef tank and would like a few non-photosyntehtic corals before investing $$$$ into fancy lights. The tank has been up for a few months and has a false perc and damsel inside. i will post pictures later on.

You might research a chili coral... they are amazing and are non-photosynthetic...in fact, they look their best in near darkness...

no more webs I take it...

nope. filled the hole with the reef glue and no more issues. the entire coral opens up between 830pm-10pm.
