Sunburst anthias not eating

Hi Guys

I got a pair of sun burst anthias and I'm currently doing ttm. I'm trying to get them to eat but I haven't seen them eat much. I got them less than 24 hours ago. They were eating like champs at the fish store. I saw them eating flakes however I'm trying to get them on piscine mysis. So I'm grating the mysis to tiny pieces and also giving them flakes but im not seeing them eat it. Also tried garlic guard.

Anyone have tips to get them eating?

Just keep offering a wide variety of foods and hope something sticks... If they were eating flakes at the LFS then you might want to stick with that for the time being though. Not having much of an apatite within the first 24 hours is not uncommon. GL.

Live blackworms. If they'll eat anything, they'll eat them.

+1 to cloak. It's very common for fish that are eating at the LFS to stop for 24-48hrs after you buy them.

Personally, I would get them eating first before performing any transfers. And for that, having fish not eat the first day is really common. I wouldn't sweat it at all. Just keep trying. One thing I know about sunburst anthias is they prefer low light. So I wouldn't use anything besides just ambient room lighting for them during this process. They also like overhangs, do you have some large PVC pipe or something for them?

what cloak and bat21 said, and i'd like to add that trying to offer them smaller foods can be helpful too. my lyretails like to eat smaller things that are more or less neutrally buoyant, so that they can pick it out of the water column.

i've had success with smaller, sinking pellets, pe callanus, rod's food fish roe (thought slightly harder to feed since it sinks pretty quickly), and frozen cyclop-eeze.

i also noticed that for the first few weeks they were pretty nervous about my presence, so i would let the food circulate in the tanks so that they could eat while i wasn't there, and they were more comfortable. i just did daily water changes of about 50% and used an amquel to help moderate the water quality.
