Suncoral pic

Took a pic of my new suncoral just starting to open foe feeding .
I didn't notice my bluethroat sleeping under him . I have it in a cave where theres good
flow hoping it starts to catch some food on its own to supplement my feeding and maybe
stay open more.

Nice coral. I just saved one of these from my LFS. It was in the discount tank and a little run down. What are you feeding it?

I feed it mysis. I also put a little cyclopes in the tank first to get them to to open all the way . Its always great to save something from the lfs,most are not open at night when they need to feed and dont take the care to do so during the day .

They are difficult to start, but once you get them back to health, you don't have to feed daily (although I usually do). If you go on vacation and you don't feed them, you may have to work on getting them to open up again, and it can be a PITA depending on how starved they are.

THEY like some flow. My sun corals started opening up good when they started getting some good flow.

+1 on flow...mine didn't start opening well untill I got a little flow on it.

All corals need sufficient flow. Make sure they're getting enough to prevent detrius from settling on them and they'll be fine.
