I'm periodically finding small snails in my tank which have a resemblance to sundial snails. Based on photos of sundial snails I've seen, I'm not too sure these are them (and also because they apparently lack the 'cone' structure that sundials seem to have).
However the ones I am finding are extremely tiny, and maybe the cones haven't developed yet?
Something is irritating/damaging some of my zoas, specifically some hitch-hiker zoas (started out with one polyp which quickly increased to 4 or 5 polyps, and before I knew it the entire group was resembling a smashed piece of old chewing gum. One of these snails was on the rock so it's a prime suspect (I removed several of these snails and the hitch hiker zoas are making a come back). Coincidence?
It's entirely possible these are completely harmless snails. In any case, I've been transferring them to a small fish only tank to see they look when/if they get bigger.
Anyway here are some pics of them:
