Sunlight lighting?

I recently moved and put my tank where it will get direct sunlight some of the day..I am thinking that aside from temp issues (should be ok) that this is a cool way to get more light in the tank and better coral growth will be seen..I am currently only using pc's so this should be good..any experience with this? or warnings or positive comments?

I can close the blinds and reduce the sunlight if algae becomes an issue.

my tank gets a ton of light from the surrounding windows if my blinds are open. The corals open up completely without the lights on which is pretty cool...and yes, algae on the glass is the only downfall. If you magfloat it every day it will be fine, but if you let it go a week it will be a pain.

Keep your Nutrients (i.e. phosphates) in check and the sunlight will cause no more algae than your Halides or other artificial lighting.

You will see very positive effects from the natural light..

I have my tank close to a window that only gets light through it at the very end of the day (if the blinds are open). I don't really use the light as a supplement on any kind of regular basis (and because it doesn't get it every day I don't notice any extra algae growth), but it is very nice for taking pics of the tank. It really makes the colors on certain things pop.

Yep.. That is (02) 10" Tubular skylights. 1/2 from the roof top the other end in to my reef...
