Will a 48" 2x250w be enough for my 90g tank with 15-20 sps? Will i also be able to place any corals anywhere the tank?

I'm looking at this exact set-up...but became very concerned when I realized it had a magnetic ballast....I thought this was old technology...perhaps I'm wrong???

I'm listening...

I have the same setup that I just put on my 90 this week. While I don't have any corals yet (cycling), it should be plenty of lighting for your tank. I would still position the highest light-demanding corals higher in the aquascape, but I would do that with pretty much any fixture just to be safe. Hope that helps.

If you are going to purchase one I would do it soon. Marine depot is selling them for $471 for the 2x250. Current-USA has discontinued all of their lights so act now if you want one or you will miss out all together.

magnetic HQI ballast (which it must be since thats the only type of magnetic ballast that will fire double ended bulbs) are the best performing ballast period. they may not be energy efficient, quiet or stay as cool as electronic ballast but they still trump electronic ballast in outright performance hence they havent gone away. even lesser probe and pulse start magnetic ballast drive "most" bulbs to higher PAR than typical electronic ballast. My only problem with the magnetic ballast I've had (sunlight supply blue wave pulse start) are size (large enclosure for cooling I guess) and noise (it hummed). I dont know if those attributes apply to the sunpark ballast used with current usa fixtures.
