Superman Monti Digi question

I have a Digi and the Original encrusting SM Monti.

The Digi seems to be a much paler blue and the red polyps, while extended well are also much paler red.

They are both approx. the same level in tank (middle) under T5 lighting. Do you think moving it higher or lower will improve color or is that just the way SM Digis look?

I could never get my digi to look quite as good as the monti. This was about the best I got.

Thanks for responding phurst. That's still better than I have. Mine has pink polyps and is a very light blue.

Is yours up high? Under what type lighting?

Thanks

It is probably more white than what the picture is showing. Don't get me wrong, you monti looks really good. It is very hard to pull any blue out of it and I have only done it when my nutrients were lower than I intended.

IMO, this exist only in a few systems.

That's actually an accurate representation. You can see the plugs are not blue at all except where the frags are shading out the halide light..

Oh yeah, I don't doubt it. I also changed my post up a bit to better explain what I was meaning. You really need the right lighting and nutrient level to get the blue.

I have a great looking Superman Monti with deep blue and red polyps, but my digi looks washed is all.

I think I'm gonna move it up and see what happens. It's growing well, with good polyp extension, it just has blah colors.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, it was always very, very picky. It never looked that good once I moved it out of the 40 it was in into by big tank. After a massive kalk overdose a while back, I have a tiny pinky nail sized piece left. with very little color at all. It's still hanging in there though.
