Supplementing for BTAs?

On the Diver's Den bubble tip anemone page it says that Calcium, Iodine, Strontium, Magnesium and Trace Elements all need to be supplemented? Does anyone here actually do all of that and if so, how are you doing it?

I do a 30% water change on my 34 gallon aquarium every 2 weeks...will that replenish all of the above to where I don't need to supplement?

Yup, I do this.
But you only need to dose if your levels are low.
If you don't have a lot of Stoney corals (I have lots) regular water changes should suffice.
So, do your water change, test, and if in range to NSW, do nothing, otherwise you can bring up the level of what is low. Try testing your Mix before you put it in so you can see if your salt is giving you the appropriate levels...

If only the nem, I am not sure what the calcium and stontium are for, iodine OK, but not to exceed .03-.06 ppm.....what the nem wants is mature tank, consistent water, strong light, moderate flow...

Check, check, check and check. I've got all of those things yet one of my bubble tips has stayed balled up since last night. It's a new anemone...two days in the aquarium so maybe it's still acclimating (although yesterday it was fully open without issue).

Very normal, it will adjust...
I would not feed, doesn't need it, but after it stabilizes, if you want, only once/twice a month, a squirt of frozen brine, or Mysis, or fingernail size of raw shrimp....

Congrats on the addition, great inhabitant!

Thank you. That eases my mind a lot. Much appreciated!

Is the photo showing?

Ok I can see and yup, it's real unhappy, even when shrunk, usually you can see short tentacles. Can you share some numbers?
Nitrate, Phosphate, Amonia, likely not zero.
How long has this been running after your cycle was completed.
What's PH?
What kind of lighting are you using...

Nems sometimes do not do well in young tanks, I m thinking post cycle stability for a min of 4 months would be the easiest.....that's not to say it won't work, just water has to be managed carefully...

There's a great nem guy out there with the user name of Ron Reefman....hope he sees this post and would chime in......he has like 20 of these in a tank.....top guy...

I think I have it figured out. I checked the salinity and it was low. I must've added too much top off water. I've been slowly raising it and the anemone is starting to come out again.

Perfect, love these findings.....I keep mine at 1.025 (ish)
Keep us posted on your success....good work!
