Survior

Wow, I just noticed something on my rock that has me amazed.

About this time last year, I purchased some Fiji rock taken out of a fellows tank which in the southern part of the state. He had the rock out of his tank in dry buckets for at least a week before I purchased it. Once I got it, I put it with my other rock which was getting heated salt water with plenty of movement but zero light. I even keep the tops covered.

I put a few pieces in my tank last weekend and just now I noticed a very small neon green growth when I had my actinics only on. I have ran my lights a little during the past 10 days but no more than 3 hours a day not including what can get in through the uncovered window. Whatever this is, it is a survivor! I'm going to let it grow a little to see if it is worth keeping.

On the flip side, which this little growth has me excited I fear what else could have survived the initial dry out..

I cannot get a focused picture but the faint green glow in the very center.

I would guess off the top of my head a discoloration of some type on the rock or a Algae that came from heaven only knows where. A clearer picture would help.

Majano was my fear. I'm hoping it could be a ric, zoo, or mushroom seedling. It is difficult to see with the eye, and impossible to photo with my camera/skill level. It does appear only the skirt is the glowing green.
