Picked up a small 1.5" specimen and added to display. (No QT at the time but making room for one now) when I was adding him during acclimation, I noticed a small, what looked like, a piece of white sand on his pectoral fin. I removed it with my finger and added the fish to the tank.
The fish was bullied at the LFS. I noticed he was suffering from fin nip probably from the damsels in the holding tank with him. So he was already suffering from previous injury.
The white spot has returned but this time on the lower fin. It is pretty noticeable when he extends it. Also in that area on his body there are a couple small white spots.
I know what marine ich looks like and how it attacks the fish. This is not acting like that. I have tried to take a few pics of the fish for a proper ID but the pictures are not coming out as I would hope.
Assuming it is a fungus. What would be the best medication to treat this specific type or best med to treat a wide range of what it might possibly be? I will try and post a few pics but they might not help as much as I hope
