Swissguard basslet

I think it started yesterday, I caught my blue headed wrasse from my 65, and did a 5 gal water change. This morning I made sure I was up before the Led's came on and I caught my little tomato clown. I thought today would be a little restock day but my swissguard, has been in the tank for a year, is acting really scared. He was mortal enemies with the tomato but maybe he liked the blue headed hermit killing machine? I thougt he jumped out when I didn't see him first thing today but he came out to eat then dissapeared again. Any thoughts on why he could be so scared? All lps and sps look fine and there are no other fish now in the tank. So I'm stumped.. I don't want to let the swissguard die he was super hard to catch and has a great personality. Let me know what you think!

IDK why they are so docile but i have one in a 29 gallon and have had him for 6 months and i barely ever see him. I know he is alive because i see him about 1 a week. Just the nature of the beast i guess.

I know how you feel. But usually I see him in the shadows of a cave at least.

Probably because there are no dither fish for it to feel comfortable. Get him use to seeing you and he will come out more.

I had a swalesi that was the same way. I started feeding it live brine and then mysis to get it used me. Once it associated me with getting fed, it would come up to the tank when I walked by.

+1 on lack of dither fish! He needs to see other fish swimming peacefully around to feel safe coming out of hiding. In the ocean, no ditherfish means predators nearby!
