switching tanks

Im moving the habitents of my 10 gallon to a 55 that has cycled for over a month-- should i put the sand from my 10 over the new sand or just throw it out???

any help appreciated

well, if the last tank sand was happy, i would bury the old sand about an inch deep in the new sand. and a sprinkle on top. that would do the seeding and protect any little wormy thingies in the old sand that need to burrow.
