ok i got a pistol shrimp in some live rock and i was wondering if he will be ok without a goby?

the vast majority of alpheids (pistol shrimp) aren't shrimp commensals and surprisingly many of them lack the big claws we associate with pistol shrimp. Your little guy will be just fine.
