t5 bulbs red at ends???

I think my ballast is tost. It stopped working a couple of days ago. So I switched ballast to see what the problem was and one of my actinics was redish orange at both ends. Anybody have a clue what's that from?

Theres an element similar to a light bulb at the ends that will glow as you loose some of the phosphorus coating you start seeing it as the bulb ages

the bulb is brand new, maybe 2 weeks old. is it a short somewhere and it's affecting the bulb and burnt the ballast?

If the lamp is lit all the way and is glowing red at the ends it indicates the ballast is not turning off the pre heat feature or the wiring is not correct.
