Here is my Derasa under T5s that is about 20" under water:

He has about tripled in size over a year and a half.

These 2 were in my 20 tall I had a total of 4 at one point with only t-5's. I have a 65 now so I moved them all, but everything did awesome in the 20.

No pics right now but I have a derasa thats been at the bottom of a 72 with 4*54 T5HO's for over a year and has put on over an inch of shell

I keep a crocea in a 38 gallon under 295 watts of T5 lighting. I have it perched 4" beneath the waterline. It was part of a downgrade from a 75 gallon lit by 2x250 watt hqi. It has lost a slight bit of color but still looks quite good.

I'll have to get decent pictures later but I have a small, 2" or so Maxima under 5x54W T5 (individual reflectors). Also there is a Crocea under it now, not too sure on it though.

Keeping a T. crocea in a 75 with 216 watts, T5. It's located about mid-depth ~10 inches. Doing great.

I'm keeping a T. derasa in another tank, same size, same lights, not fairing well, but it's new and when I recieved it the water it was in was freezing, so I'm thinking it was something else causing the clam problems.

Some say you can't keep light-intensive items under T5's unless you have individual reflectors, but I disagree.

Here are mine under 6X39 watt t-5's the crocea is about 12" under the water and the maxima is basically at the bottom of the tank 24"

i have croceas and maximas under t5s. just posted in another thread my maxi.-check it out, they grow nicely under the t5s.

i'm at 17 months, am thinking of changing mine any day now by the 1.5year point.
currently using two sylvania 6500k daylight one arcadia (made in holland) actinic and one arcadia marine white (it's like a aquasun 10,000k tri-band phospher).
i'm going to switch out the actinic for another daylight when i replace them.

*How about a UPDATE on those with CROCEAS / T5's ????????*
