T5 for 15 gal

After 1 1/2 years of service, I took of the Eclipse canopy off and added a Tetratec 300 for filtration with the added heater and a T5 24in. strip light. The lights power is 1 14 w 10,000 daylight and 1 14w true actinic 03 blue.

Is this enough light to grow polyps, zoos, mushrooms..anything else? The more I read the the more confused I get with folks having this setup to folks having 3x this lighting.

I bought a zoo which opened an hour after I put it in and a nice star polyp that hasn't opened yet--going on 5 days now!

Water chem is fine.

Thanks for your help...

that will probably be fine for those corals, and maybe even more demanding ones.

is there any sort of reflector on the bulbs?

Those are T5NO, NOT HO..

He never said they were HO.

And I knew they were NO.

those lights even with no reflectors are probably as good if not better than a pair of CF that easily will support those corals.

there is a reflector above the bulbs inside the tight housing of the fixture. The light is obviously much brighter than the 50/50 flourescent in the old hood! I just started second guessing myself when I was reading what others were using...thanks for the input. I'll stick with this and see how they do...I hope that polyp comes out soon?!?
