Tailspot or Midas Blenny?

Hello all!

So I currently have a 55 Gallon that has been up and running for about 10 months. Currently it's only occupants are a CUC, a fire shrimp (soon to be a pair), and a Sunburst Anthias which I got by pure dumb luck.

My current dilemma is which Blenny to add next... A Tailspot or a Midas?

I currently have a Midas on hold at my LFS (which is lucky since 1) They rarely get them in and 2) The price is right!) Tailspots tend to be easier to find.

My future stocking list includes a pair of Ocellaris Clowns and potentially in the far future, a Mandarin Dragonet (I am fully aware of the dietary requirements and will continue to research until I am 100% positive that I will be able to create a happy home for it) or maybe one other small fish.If I get a Midas will I have to avoid adding any gobies in the future? Have you had any issues with Midas agression? My sunburst is pretty skittish, is there a possibility of him being bullied by a Midas?

I am just torn on which Blenny would be a better addition so let me know what you think!!

Midas aren't too bad in my experience and one should be fine. They naturally shoal with anthias so it would be nice to see. they don't normally cause issues if they are fed enough, little and often. The same can be said for anthias which will bicker far less if they have 5-10 small meals throughout the day as it is much more natural.
You shouldn't have much trouble adding gobies with either as they inhabit different areas, the blennies more the rockwork and gobies the sand bed and lower areas.

I do love the tailspot and its certainly a character fish. i have both in seperate tanks and the tailspot is much more active and friendly but the midas is a brilliant splash of colour and it isn't particularly shy either. I don't think you could lose whichever you go for.

For that size tank I would say do a tailspot. My approach is to have minimal fish though. I only have one clown and one tiny pygmy Angelfish in my 54 corner

Never had a tailspot but my entire household loves our midas in our 120. Mucho personality, great with holes in rockwork, just an all around champ.
