Tampa Aquarium Reef Tank

Leave it to me to come up with an idea I cant participate in due to busyness, but a thought occurred to me last time my family visited the aquarium.

The reef tank they have upstairs by the touchy feely area is nice, but many of us have tanks that are much better, and frags that could really make it a bit more exciting. It is a big tank, I am guessing around 250G. Has anyone ever considered getting with the aquarium and donating time and frags as a club to get it up to par with our own? I bet the aquarium would be willing to fund suggested equipment by the club and put up a nice plug for our hobby and club.

Have at it.

Not to be a downer, but I contacted the aquarium about my tang yesterday and the lady said they will not accept those type of donations and if I wanted to contact the Florida wildlife they could "dispose" of the fish for me.

you never know until you try... and by try we need to have a well thought out project, with clear obtainable goals and a first class presentation to the Aquarium.

Walking up to them while looking around will not cut it for a project like he is talking about.

Hmmm.... yeah you got to know who to talk to and how to present the idea ....

the reef tanks are maintained by sea world the employees at the aquarium are not even aloud to intervene with husbandry

I work with some people that work at the Aquarium...I could ask them if they know who would be the best person to talk to.
