tang with red blotches behind gills

Hello all i have a yellow mimic tang who has some red streaks behind its gills??? any idea on what this could be? i have been slowly bringing up the salinity but by slow i mean very slow? tang seems to be eating and swimming fine with out labored breathing? any ideas should i be worried

Could be a skin wound or it could be a bacteria lession, either way both could be treated with melafix, and melafix is reef safe.

sounds like a water quality issue. I had the same issue in the past and as soon as I do a 40% water change, the yellow tang got rid of the blotches in a few days later.
