Tangs and Regeneration...

I've noticed my kole tang has lost his color on his face, it's like blotches of white took over a section of his face.

My tangs are recovering from a massive ich infestation that nearly wiped out everything.

Will he regenerate his skin on his face? Also my yellow tang has his dorsal fan not complete, fully flexed it's uneven as if some fungus wiped out part of it.

Will that grow back with time?

Thanks,

Mike G

The fish will likely recover completely IF it is provided the best in water quality, best environment and best diet.

For diet and the supplements you should be adding to its food, check this post:

Do your best at maintaining the highest water quality and stability. If the environment isn't right (e.g., tank too small, the tank hasn't stabilized, tankmate issues, etc.) the recovery will be slower or may not occur.

Leebca,

Thanks so much for your reply, I do have great water parameters now. I maintain a ORP of 370-410 every day. I also run a UV and ozone unit through my tank.

This has been what has wiped out my ich to a small number. Amazing that my Powder blue which was the fish that brought the ich to the tank and was the most affected has recovered 98 percent.

He looks spectacular like the day I first brought him home. It has been my other fish that have been slow to recover, but they are.

I just never saw these blotches on my kole before and was just wondering if they are permanent scars.

All are actively feeding nicely each day and grazing during daylight hours.

I will look into the food you talk about, because I'm just feeding flakes by Formula Two and some frozen formula.

once again thanks,

Mike G
