Tank Bred Clowns

hey guys, im new to saltwater- decided after have piranahs(caribe) for the past few years that i would like to switch over to S.W. anyways i have been reading that its not a good idea to mix more than 1 species of clown, but from liveaquaria.com, it states that many species of tankbred clowns can co-exist if introduced at the same time. is this true? i would like 2 Percula Clownfish and 2 Black and White Percula Clownfish ..would really like the yellowstriped maroon but have read that they are bigger and the most aggressive. my tank is 90 gal and it will be awhile before they are added. thanks :)

There are so many more possibilities out there... that is the main reason I hear from people why they decide to go with a salt water set-up. Why take a risk? look at more options...

short answer: don't do it. 1 pair of clowns for your tank is all.

longer answer: you might get lucky with the 4 percs at once as they tend to be the smallest and least agressive clowns, but a maroon will almost certainly not tolerate other clowns as it gets older. If you have to add two pairs, make sure the things they're hosting are on other sides of the tank where they can't see each other.

[welcome]

both Orion and MKNBNK

you MIHGT be able to get away with it, if added at the same time, but if you are just starting out, not a worthy rick, if you ask me

SWEET! Thanks..i would like to try,but S.W fish arent cheap, so now to decide between the black and white or reg percs

If you want to two pairs of clowns, why not make one of them skunks and one percs. The fact that they look a bit different will help to stall agression some

Wes

I have had a pair of skunk clowns and a pair of percs for years with no issues in my 90 gallon.
Matter of fact, I just added a green carpet and both pairs have been hosting in it for the last week with no issues.
