Tank broke (not an april fools joke)

The glass didnt break, so I dont have the big mess. but, the support in the middle of the tank to prevent the front from bowing has broken and the front is/was bowed by about a half inch.

Whats worse is my daylights were not lit this morning, only the actinics. I havent troubleshot the light yet, so I dont know whats wrong with it.

I ran to the hardware store quick and picked up a bar clamp to support the middle of the tank while I figure out what Im going to do next.

I have a replacement tank (a 75) that I could transfer to, but the stand I was building is nowhere near finished, so I would need to go buy a new stand/canopy today... I dont even want to think of buying new lights.

There might be another tank sale. :(

I still have a couple of 75g with black or cherry stand for 250 if your interested. RR includes bulkheads. Or you could have a 90 RR with stand for 300 I believe there is a 90 that is brand new

I'm in the des moines arean, not sure where your but the tank will have to be picked up before 4ish, The wife and I have plans

Just get a peice of glass around a 1/4 thick, use the bar clamp to hold the tank in place while you silicone the glass where the support use to be. Give the silicone a few days to fully cure and it should be ok. As for the lighting.....I can't help you much on that. HTH Jason

Thanks for the advice Jason. Its an old 55 though, it's ready to become a sump or garbage. I might take TT up on one of those other set ups.

BTW, it must have been a bad connection or something, the lights appear to be fine now.

Well at least with the bar clamp you will have some time to get another tank set up, good luck on the up grade

So I figured that if I needed to upgrade I would do it right. I ended up buying a new RR 90 gallon and a nice cherry stand to go with it. It was one of those that tinytool had in storage.

JJ, I wanted to thank you again for the quick response and delaying your afternoon to meet me.. you're awesome man.. I owe you one.
