Tank building question

Hi I'm gonna be building a 12x12x12 inch cube, with half inch glass. My question is do you put the side peices of glass on top of the bottom pane or put the sides against the bottom pane?
Feed back will be appreciated

You could use 1/4 glass it would be plenty strong enough. I would set all sides on the bottom glass

I tore apart a 40 breeder I broke this weekend and the sides sit on top of the bottom, this was a aquoinin tank, I know thats not spelled right.

I'm going with 1/2 inch cause I love the look of thick tanks

+ thicker glass is probably safer... set on top of the bottom pane
