Planning a DIY tank top to prevent fish jumpers. From reading other threads, it seems that a home made top using window screen framing(HD, Lowes)and nylon type mesh screening (1/4" +/-) is the way to go. Has anyone tried this and been able to locate the parts in the Nashville area,particularly the mesh material?Thanks

I got my supplies at lowes... I used fiberglass mesh that is normally used on screen doors. it was about 6 bux and should be more than enough for what you need.

I've got some extra mesh if you need it. Its the thin, black 1/4" kind. I think it would probably block less light than regular screen for screen doors.

Is that what yours is, Mike? Or is it larger than regular screen?

No I think mine is just regular screen... I might have to look into that thin one your talking about for my 95...

It does block light but it not too bad.

poolkeeper1 has done this effectively and I'm working on putting it together for my 180. Basically you just build a screen. All the material can be picked up at Home Depot or Lowes.
