Hi,
I believe I have at least 1 mantis in my 50 gallon reef tank.
I am, at the moment ok with this, it needs to eat and live too....afterall why does one thing deserve to live more than another?
I do, however have a concern. I have heard that they can crack tanks. Is this true? Has anyone experieced it?
What will happen if it can crack the tank? will it still hold water? will it explode a hole and flood my floor and probably end the life of everything in the tank?
Advice would be great!
Thanks,
Corey,
P.S. At one point, I had a rock out of the tank, and tried to poke the mantis out. I may have mistakenly/angerly poked him to death... I am unsure....So, I may still have one,but am unsure.(still hear loud and sometimes disturbingly lound cracks. I don't know if it is the huge pistol shrimp, that I know I have).
