tank cycling...what are these??

Ok here is my setup....100% base rock used at this time, sand is 80% dead sand and 20% live sand from LFS (not from a tank) I have nothing in the tank at this time livestock wise. Underneath is skimmer fuge with more live sand, dead sand and cheato...

I woke up today to what looks like cobwebs all over my rocks, this is my 5th tank to setup but the first time I have seen this.

What is it???

Im really not sure what Im looking at here. its possible it is a sponge of some sort. Was this rock wet or dry prior to adding to your tank.
You do know you will need some LR to seed this base rock right?

Live rock is on the way....If you look closely at the pic you will see stringy stuff coming off the rock..Its tough to get a picture of it. Its not worms or anything else shooting out webs for food...It just popped up overnight

I would normally say mini featherdusters, snails or vermitd snails. if this was dry base rock then that is not possible. I would think maybe something that was hardened onto the base rock that has now softened with water. Try blowing it off or removing and seeing if it returns.
