Tank drilling question

So I have a 40 gallon tall glass tank. I wanted to drill it but I seen a sticker on the bottom of it that said don't drill. Now does that only mean the bottom panel or the whole tank can't be drilled? If I can't drill it what could I do instead of drilling it?

Bottom of tank is made out of tempered glass. Do not drill. Glass will explode. Chances are the sides are safe. Do a search on how to determine tempered glass and go from there.

Call the manufacturer. They have a list of building materials they use for each specific size of tank. Also do a light test for tempered glass like laga said. There are a few ways to do it just google.

Alright thanks I was planing on drilling the sides I'll look into that just thought I would ask on here. First

I've found that full tempered tanks usually say so on the sticker, but def. check as recommended. I use a laptop computer screen and polarized sunglasses.

sure fire way to find out is to start drilling, you will know soon enough….chances are pretty good the bottoms the only tempered panel though…

as for calling the manufacturer, seems like wasted time to me…chances are there is someone there who has a list of the glass used used in a particular day, that said, from what i understand of mass pro tanks they tend to use what they have on hand…

i would try the laptop trick , though it isn't 100% it is pretty good..

barring that…wear safety glasses….
