Anyone know what the minimum distance between two holes drilled in 3/8th inch glass would be?

Also what size would you recommend for drains and returns in a 24wx24lx20h?

I dont know about the distance between 2 holes. I think i remember someone saying that if u drill a 1" hole, u should give atleast one inch of distance before drilling another hole next to it. As for the drain size, it depends on how much flow u are looking to put thru the drain. its estimated at 600 gph for a 1" drain pipe

Thanks I guess I will do 1.5 inch drains and 1 inch returns.

have u thought of saving urself the trouble of making 2 different holes and just plumb the return up and over the back

also remember not to put too much flow throught the sump if not u might have microbubble issues

I am going topless with my new tank design. I want it to be as clean as possible so I don't want anything going up and over the back.

I am going to have a Closed loop for circulation and also the drain and return for the sump. I haven't decided on the exact pumps I want to use yet, still researching those. If anyone has any suggestions I am all ears.
