Tank Envy... Zeovit Users

Tank Envy
I am thinking about starting a new tank. Probably a 50 gallon cube with a sump. I have already acquired a Vertex Zeovit reactor from ebay. Those YouTube videos of Zeovit tanks look awsome! Anybody have any real world experience with this set up?
I will be using an OLD SCHOOL Octopus controller for automation which can monitor temp, PH, and ORP. Yes, it was another ebay purchase -$5 and the seller was nice enough to deliver it. Eventually I will upgrade to an APEX.
This will be an entirely new set up for me. Along with a real jellyfish tank that has been long over due.

I know one person who used zeovit basically a ULNS is what your aiming for. Great coloration but it came down to cost and for him money was no object since he used the full line.

I have a few problems with Zeovit. The corals tend to look sort of artificial to me, and sort of washed out, the product line is insanely complicated and expensive, and it requires an incredibly steep (even for this hobby) start up cost. I'm also the kind of guy that likes to do things semi-naturally (Chaeto vs Ammonia and Nitrate binding chems). An ULNS can be accomplished with smart stocking, a good skimmer, good maintenance, and lots of patience :uhoh3: and healthy, fed corals tend to look better to me.

I will admit that I am envious of Zeovit and ULNS as well though because of incredible water quality and so on. If you end up doing it, let us know how it goes. I for one would be very interested in learning more about the process.

I keep my tank very clean, probably too clean when talking about nitrates and phosphates. I don't run a ULNS full Zeovit system. But I do use some of their products. If youre familiar with Joe The Coral, here was mine last year when my tank was too clean and using Sponge Power and Coral Vitalizer. The corals were very pale, but very colorful. I stopped using these a while back and all my SPS darkened up. I purchased more a few weeks ago, so hope to get some brighter colors again over the next few months.
