So, I've always had nutrients in my previous tanks.
While setting up my current 350 gallon tank, I went overboard on everything.
OVer skimming, 40 gallon breeder full of microalgae and live rock, GFO and carbon reactors, and a 5 stage rodi filter.
And I've noticed everything slow down in growth from what I had before.
Kind of amazing actually. My corals have always been used to somewhat elevated nitrates and phosphates, and now I'm barely reading nitrates.
No nuisance algae, no diatoms, and hardly any algae growing on the glass... and it's not thie lights, I can promise that. I'm running a 6 bulb ATI on the 50 gallon, 18" high tank, and 4 radions on the 240 cube, so I think the lighting will suffice..
This is one of those good problems to have.
I guess it's time to start adding more fish! My corals need the food!
Anyone else ever had this success/problem?
I'm not sure I know had to run a nutrient-low system..
