I am using live sand and live rock. I figure the cycling shouldn't take longer than a week or two? Ok now how should I introduce fish? this is what I want: maybe 4 clown fish, two tangs, a bi-color sudeo, and a couple others (any suggestions on the others for a reef tank?). What are the best tangs to get? (compatability, health...)

when should I add what fish? I've heard of starting w/ a damsel, should I do that, then what?

thanks a lot!

OK lets try this out. Personally I believe that your cycle will be longer than a week or two. Even if it done in a week or two you wont have enough bacteria colonized for that size of a tank. I wouldnt start with a damsel. Take either a raw cocktail shrimp or 2 / or just add some fishfood. You want to be looking for a nice large cycle. I would only try 4 clowns if they are all the same species and are purchased very young. Even if they dont fight right away down the line when they mature there could be a rather nasty fight which could lead to the death to the 2 less dominant clowns. I would really only stick with 2. If you are looking into tangs I would suggest a Yellow Eye Kole Tang, and maybe a Power Blue. I suggest introducing them at the same time since they might also fight. There is always a chance the tangs will not tolerate each other. Thats why I suggested those 2 because there body shape is different. I would wait for your cycle and add the clowns first and wait a week. Let them settle in and start feeding and let your bacteria catch up. Then you can at the bi-color and other fish. Slowly add your fish since you dont want your bacteria to get overloaded. Add the tangs last. HTH
