Tank Mates

Hello I'm new here and have a established tank with 11 mollies 1 clown and 1 coral beauty wondering what tanks mates to go with next. Looking at hermits and stars and skunk shrimp but what about fish. Also can hermits and stars live together. Fish and live rock only right now. Sorry so many questions. And it's OK for the new additions to use mollies as food not interested in keeping them in tank.

I would get the mollies out. At that point you could pair up your clown, and then decide on further tank mates. For a 55 you could do things like gobies, cardinal fish, toby puffers, and several others. Check this site out for some more fish options: https://www.liveaquaria.com/

It is rare that Stars survive in captivity for more than 1 year.
Most starve, many cannot adjust, some are predatory, while there are likely exceptions, better left in the sea.

Royal gramma, lawnmower blenny, fire fish red or purple.....shrimps yes.

I never put any hermits in my tank because I cannot trust them...

You could do a tiger serpent starfish. They aren’t a classic starfish, move fast and make a good addition to your cleaning crew. They will eat leftover food in the tank. I have kept one in every tank I have ever had.

I agree w/ getting rid of the Mollies. You can look at the flame hawkfish, purple orchid, lawnmower/starry blenny, black cap basslet, and fairy wrasses just to name some fish that are compatible with the tank size and current livestock.

Thank you both. The mollies are gone except to tiny babys that I couldn't catch I know have the previous clown and coral beauty and added a black Darwin clown and a skunk shrimp yesterday. Everything is going great so far. I'm now developing lime green spots which I'm hoping is Coraline
