I like the looks, gives me some ideas for my bow front that sits empty right now! What is your plan for the curved doors?

hey muttley, that is actually what I'm going to be working on today I think. I just got some trim for the edges and the wood I cut out for the doors I still have so I am going to take a piece of 2x4 or 1x4 and cut it to size then draw the curve on it and cut that. Then I'm going to glue it to the piece of plywood and put the trim on it so that way it has some detail and it should be the exact curve of the bowfront. I am also going to carve into the trim so the hinge will sit under it and be halfway hidden. I'll take some picture of it as I'm going along.

okay that was dumb, anyways..
So this is the process of doing the bowfront doors..
First make a mold of the bow.
Then cut the ribs out, I ended up making a middle one as well since my doors are tall.
Then glue and clamp them down.
Sand them all down and add the hinges and bam! done.:bounce1:
haha pretty easy process. Just used a jigsaw to cut all the ribs.
I wish I knew how to post pictures in my thread so I could put comments next to the actual picture but oh well..:crazy1:
While I was at it I cut the trim as well for the doors just need to put those on, probably tomorrow.
Oh by the way for those who noticed that the 'rib' looks like it is really long compared to the door in that one picture it actually isn't that is just where I had drilled a hole to get the jigsaw in to cut the doors out of the plywood.:lolspin:
