Tank sizes

I have a 37 gallon Perfecto now, and am thinking about upgrading. I have a 75g just sitting here, but if I can find something to fit my current stand, I think I am going to go that route.

The stand I have now will hold a max size of 32.5x24.5. So i guess the max sizes tank would have a footprint of 32x24 or something very close to that. Does anyone have any ideas?

I want a 56g perfecto which has the same dimensions as my current tank, but it 10" longer. Unfortunately, I can't get one around here without buying a stupid stand to go along with it.

could you add on to the back of your stand? With the foot print you can only go deeper which would mean stronger lighting. Which would be more expensive than a new stand. What dimmensions do you have for the 75?

I wanted to find a tank a bit larger than mine now, but have it still fit on my stand I'm using for my 37. If I can't do so, I will probably just end up using my 75 (With it's own stand.)

You'd probably have to get a tank custom made to get bigger using your current stand. Also, you might want to look into building your own stand, as it's much cheaper - $20 in 2x4 will give you enough wood for a 55g stand.

I have built ever stand I've ever had a tank on, but thanks for the tips. The 2x4's are cheap, but the sheets of plywood, time, effort, and supplies can make it everybit as expensive as a store bought stand in a hurry. Oh well, I guess I will start working on getting my 75 drilled.
