tank stand begins (rendering inside)

I would be a little worried about the braces running front to back, directly supporting the tank, they are only held on by the fasteners. It would be more secure if you could make them slightly longer, and then route a u-channel into the wood that they fasten to.

the tank also rests on the inner lip of the outer frame, its supported on all 4 sides, not just the 2x4s

the stand is finally done

in order to make my sliding front door work, I bought these sliding door tracks at home depot, I was disappointed that they were 9.99 since this is the most expensive single item in the entire stand...I had to modify it to accomodate 1 door and to make it look better

here they are unmodified

and modified and mounted

and finally the stand is complete and assembled

total $92.31 ($98.77 after tax)

this was not bad...however my budget was 50 dollars, the 2x6s and 2x10s killed my budget, otherwise it was pretty close

this also does not include a few tools I had to buy to complete the project, such as a jigsaw, chalkline, etc

the project was great and worth it and I love the way it looks, so in that regard it was a success, despite going over budget

thanks for looking, as usual questions and comments are welcome
