My new issue is I just bought three Zebra Barred Dartfish. The look beautiful and they swim all around so my wife loved them. I was able to get 2 medium and one large for a very good price. Sunday night one of them disappeared, well I found it after work yesterday in my net under the tank.
I was now down to two. Last night I was cleaning the tank up and adding some rock back into the display I had down in the sump for a while, both were swimming around with no problems. I went to check back after dinner and noticed there was only one. I'n a 300 DD there are a lot of places to hide, but the zebra fish always seen to stick together. I decided to look around on the floor again and sure enough there it was partially dried up. I quickly put it in the tank and while holding its tail I moved it back and forth. Wala, it started to breath. It was breathing and slowly starting to move around when I went to bed. But unfortunately this morning I found it unresponsive. So I am now left with one.
I have light diffusion panels on top of my tank just for the fish jumping, but apparently the 1/2" cubes are still too big for these fish, so last night I put towels over the tank to keep the last one from jumping. Now I'm searching for suggestions on what to put on top of my tank to keep everyone inside. I am thinking of attaching window screen to the light diffusion panels, but open to any other good suggestions on a tank this large.
