Tank transfer

I am upgrading my peacock tank from the 10 gallon he is in now to a 33 long. Currently the 10 has an 8" piece of 2" pvc pipe white, 15 lbs of live rock, 1 1/2" substrate of a 50/50 mix of sand and crushed coral Whisper power filter, AC 30 powerhead and a CoralifeSuperSkimmer 65. Other inhabitants are a blue damsel a large colt coral and a small xenia. I am adding 40 lbs of Carib Sea Argonite sand (rinsed) to the 33 long, and everything else in the 10 gal. Lighting will be 2 55W PC. What steps should I take to make sure he is transferred safely. How prone are peacocks to being affected to a small tank cycle.I should
add he is 12cm long.

damn at 12cm long he has lon grown out of the 10, as for your question on the tank transfer im not sure, im going through the same thing with my peacock now, one thing i would say is get him in an acclimation bucket and go through drip acclimation again, im not sure on the tank cycle, i put 30 pounds of LS in my tank the same day as my mantis went in and he is doing fine

Sorry this is a little off topic, but how long has he been in there with the Damsel? Hasnt attacked it at all???
Good luck with the tank Transfer.

2 months, they were put in the tank the same time, I keep the mantis well fed with snails, crabs, freeze dried krill soaked in selcon.

ooo i just bought damsels for monte tonight and he already had one that got too close to the cave hes waiting for the other one to make the same mistake

since you aren't adding any uncured LR i would mix up fresh water in the new tank and get it as close to the parameters on the old tank as possible. hen i would pull all the critters and corals and do a drip acclimation, and while that is going on I would move all the rest of the stuff from the old tank to the new one.

Transfer complete, I seeded the new tanks sandbed with a couple of cups of sand from the old tank and all the live rock, waited a week then transferred everything over. He/she should be much happier in the 33 long. I'm thinking about adding another fish, perhaps a bicolor angel.
What other fish do you keep with their peacock?

I just keep a yellow damsel. I kept a domino damsel with my other peacock, but he died with Dagon in the filter-clog accident.
