I am upgrading my 55 gal tank to a 90 gal. Is there any thing I should consider during the move? I read previously that I should wash the sand bed before moving to the 90 gal. My sand bed is about 2 in deep. Is this true? Will my tank cycle by just moving the sand and live rock to the new tank? Anything else I should consider which could hurt my tank?

I moved a couple smaller tanks into my 120g when I set it up. Digging up the old sandbed will stir up all kinds of gunk. I would suggest keeping a couple pounds of the old sandbed as it is, then either rinse the rest of the old really well and then use it, or simply start with new sand, then after doing either of those routes add the couple pounds of the old to seed the new. I needed more rock when I moved too, but I decided to save some money and use dry rock mixed in with my established live rock, then stock slowly afterwards. Worked great. I had no cycle, but I still went through some "new tank syndrome" stuff like some algae and cyano in some areas. Went away after a short time.
