Tap water in planted tanks?

Has anyone used tap-water in their planted tanks? Would it be beneficial towards the seagrass and macros? Would it bother fish/inverts? I was thinking this because since its desirable to have some nitrates and phosphates which in present in tap water why not use it?

I think I read that Sarah uses tap, but I'm sure she knows better than me. If its well water without chlorine and has a fairly low TDS then I dont think I would be too concerned in a planted tank. It would be a good idea to have it tested to know whats in it first. The purity of well water can change seasonally so testing a couple times a year wouldnt hurt.
