Tap water TDS

I'm just curious what most people are reading for TDS off of their taps. Mine reads 146 and I'm having trouble figuring out if that is high/low/typical. Thanks for any input.

Wow, Mine just tested 104. Lowest its ever been. It ussually runns in the 140-160 range and has been over 200 a few times. It can vary daily it seems. I guess depending on the water comming into the treatment plant??

Thanks for all of the readings. It would seem that my 140 is not so bad. I was asking because the amount of waste water I'm making is about what the manufacturer stated (3.5-to-1) and my output per day is working out to right about 50 gpd, but I thought 140 sounded a little high and would have expected more waste.

As far as the fitting, they shipped me out a new one priority mail the morning after I realized the problem and e-mailed them about it (8:10am). It got here Friday and I hooked it up yesterday and started making water. Don't know what the problem was with the first one (scored O-ring?).

Mine was 154. The filter from the fridge tested out at 152.

Looks like its time to replace that filter :) (at least it better be)

As far as I know, fridge filters add stuff to the water in addition to taking out some stuff. You shouldn't expect it to have a lower TDS.

I agree on the fridge filter. mainly just a carbon type filter for taste. Today my water is at 182 tds. WOW. amazing how it fluctuates. the ammt of waste water really is not any indicator of how high the tds is. really just the flow for the ro membrane. you can lessen that ratio, but it will wear out your membrane significantly faster. My membrane is a bit wierd. it will still flow water thru when I have the flush open. go figure. reading between ro and di is 4 to 6 tds.
