Tap Water use

I am getting all my equipment together for a 90 gal reef tank. I have just one remaining question:
When I rinse, wash or clean my new equipment, gravel/ substrate is it imperative to use RO/DI water? I plan to fill the tank and maintain top-offs through the RO/DI system. Will any silica and phospahtes remanin behind and in turn be introduced into the aquarium if I use tap water?

not enough of anything would be remain, I always clean my equipment with tap water

All of my stuff gets rinsed in tap water; like the Devil Dog said, not enough remains to be much of an issue.

i always use tap water, but our water is high sulfur so i give my sponge filters a quick rinse in DI water afterwards, i wont use more than 1/2 a gallon though.
