Looking at a couple used acrylic 300 gal tanks...

Lets say they are both in exactly the same condition. Same size, no scratches, same cabinet style and color.

Who makes the better tank?

I would say if you could go and see both check the seems and make sure theres no crazing or bubbles. Other then that havent heard much either way on what company puts out better product on a regular basis

Well, just to make your job easier, I would say whichever one has less scratches.

I have had a 300g tenecor and now a larger clarity plus.
Both were great tanks with no problems.
You don't want to spend 5 hours buffing them so pick the one with less scratches.

Are they both the same thickness?

IME, Clairty Plus tanks have been made with thinner panes than the same size tank by Tenecor.

As mhurley say, Some time back Clarity Plus was putting a "cheapo" product in the market with thinner than required acrylic and had lots of complains and quality issues. (I know, I been there) Apparently after they were acquired a year or two back they seem to have been putting a better product. In any case, I got my frag tank from Tenecor and I can say quality and strength way surpasses the one of Clarity Plus which I know I will need to replace or one of this days I will have a tragedy around.

So if they are the same dimensions first thing to check is for pane and tops thickness and for the quality of the seems with no crazing nor bubbles. If by then they still compare then look for less scratches.
