What is this thing? It retracts from light, I've seen the arm extended over 8-inches, it moves under its own control. Someone suggested peanut worm, but none of the on-line pictures have convinced me.
That's the feeding proboscis of a spoon worm, phylum Echiura, probably family Bonellidae. The forked tip is common in the family. Animals keep their soft bodies inside a burrow or rock crevice while the proboscis stretches out to find food. If a fish or crab eats the proboscis the echiuroid just grows a new one.
